Software & systems development

Software and systemsfor people who make things.

We build the software a manufacturing business actually runs on — the website its customers buy through, the studio they design and approve in, and the platform that turns that into quotes, orders, purchasing, production and dispatch. One system, written for the business it belongs to.

What we build

Three parts of the same system.

Most manufacturers run a website, a design process and a production office that know nothing about each other, so everything gets typed in twice and the mistakes happen in the gaps. We build the three as one.

01

Website and customer portal

The public site, the product range, and a real account behind it: customers register, verify their email, sign in, and find their saved designs and proofs in one place.

02

Design and proofing online

The customer is the artist: materials, finishes, colours, their own crest and wording, placed where they want it. Nothing is forced on them, and nothing is offered that cannot be made. They approve the proof online, and that proof runs the job.

03

The manufacturing platform

Everything after the order: customers and suppliers in one database, bills of materials, stock and purchasing, scheduling against real capacity, tablets at every station, quality checks, dispatch, invoicing — and the customer told at each stage without anyone ringing them.

One thread

An order never gets typed in twice.

An enquiry becomes a quote, the quote becomes an order, the order becomes jobs on the workshop tablets — carrying one reference the whole way, so anybody can see where anything is.

Step 01

Enquiry

From the website, the design studio or the phone — into one pipeline with an owner and a next action.

Step 02

Quote

Products, specification and price. Accepted, it becomes an order under the same number.

Step 03

Production

Stock comes off, the job is scheduled against real capacity, and the pack prints with the approved proof.

Step 04

Dispatch

Signed off on the floor, dispatched and invoiced — with the costs recorded against the job.

Prefix aside, the number on the quote is the number on the order, the job and the invoice.

The hard parts

Built for the day it goes wrong.

Any system can take an order on a good day. What matters is the piece that gets scrapped at the second station, the material that is two short, the proof nobody approved. Ours is written for those.

  • Bills of materials, with stock coming off as jobs go into production
  • Purchase orders raised from a shortfall, approved by management before they are sent
  • Production booked into the hours the workshop actually has
  • Job packs and travellers printed, then filled in at each station on the tablet
  • Rejects, scrap and remakes fed back into stock and onto the schedule
  • Costing that knows what the materials and the labour really came to

How we work

Built in modules, tested as we go.

Learn how the business actually runs

Not how a system thinks it should. We sit with the people doing the job — the office, the buyer, the shop floor — and start from what they do now.

Design it around that

The workflow, the screens and the paperwork are shaped to the business. Nothing gets bent to fit a package written for somebody else.

Build and release in modules

Working software every couple of weeks, in use as it lands, instead of a big reveal at the end that nobody recognises.

Test it with the people who will use it

Real orders, real products, on the real shop floor, before it matters. Problems get found here and not in front of a customer.

Train, hand over and keep it running

Practical training for the team, written guidance, and a dated record of every change and release. We host it, back it up and support it.

Written by people who have worked on the factory floor.

Fifteen years in manufacturing, and two systems of this kind before this one. It is not a sales line — it is why the awkward parts are handled instead of being left for somebody to work around on a spreadsheet.

We know what an order looks like from the customer's side, the supplier's side and the bench, because we have stood in all three. Software written from only one of those is the software everybody ends up working around.
